Train travel is often the easiest and most efficient way to get between cities. This is especially true in Europe and The Northeast U.S. In Europe there are many high speed trains like the Eurostar that connect major cities letting you quickly and comfortable reach your destination. They are often quite punctual and provide a great stress free way to get around. For popular routes booking in advance can help you save money and guarantee you seats, but for less major routes such as the train from Florence to Piza Italy you can usually show up and buy then and there. Some of these trains can come as frequently as every 15-20 minutes making them a no brainer to include in your travel toolkit.
In the U.S there are still trains although not as prevalent as in Europe. Amtrak offers many convenient options and while not the fastest or the most reliable in terms of timing, it can take a lot of the stress of getting from point A to point B off you. You can go right from one major city center to another and don’t have to worry about a long grueling drive. You can simply board the train and relax until you reach your destination.
All of this is why trains should be considered for travel more. They can be an incredibly efficient means of transport that takes the burden of transport off you.
About Jim Casington
Hi. I'm Jim. I have been traveling the world in a van for some years now. I have been all over and seen so many things. My only hope is to share some of the experience I have gathered in my wild journey through life with you all. Some wonder how I travel the world in a van. I mean, how would I get across the ocean. Well this isn't for everyone I sell the van and get a new one when I switched to traveling Europe. It takes a certain person to do but I am that person so I love it!
