Take Rome SLOWER

Rome is a place with many things to do and can easily be overwhelming at first. But with a few easy tips you can get the most out of your trip. While it is important to book major attractions like the Colosseum or the Vatican early, there is still plenty of ways to enjoy the spontaneous side of traveling in Rome.

There are many piazzas you can wander to and grab some quick food and relax. You can simply take some time to enjoy the environment and yourself. There are also many ruins that are open to the public to explore throughout the city. You’ll just be walking along and then there will be some ruins. These are often free and are everywhere so you’ll be able to go to the ones that peak your interest the most and can make some wonderful impromptu adventures. They are so plentiful one ruin is literally serving as a cat sanctuary so you never know what you may find.

The city is rich but it can also get hot. Make sure to wear good footwear as it is the kind of place where you will be walking a lot. Also make sure to stay hydrated. The last thing you want is your amazing trip to be stopped by heat stroke. Wearing a hat, staying in the shade when possible can help to mitigate this but taking it even slower and going back to your room for a midday break can also be a blessing. During the middle of the day when it is hottest, either being inside a place with air conditioning or going back to your room for a nap can help you enjoy Rome without burning out or burning up from the sun!

When in Rome you might have to slow down to get the most of your time.

About Jim Casington

Hi. I'm Jim. I have been traveling the world in a van for some years now. I have been all over and seen so many things. My only hope is to share some of the experience I have gathered in my wild journey through life with you all. Some wonder how I travel the world in a van. I mean, how would I get across the ocean. Well this isn't for everyone I sell the van and get a new one when I switched to traveling Europe. It takes a certain person to do but I am that person so I love it!
