Florence is a beautiful vibrant city. Around every corner you will find something new to see. While people will often talk about the famous landmarks there is a lesser known attraction that I think more people should know about. That is of course the Leonardo da Vinci Museum.
The museum is a smaller attraction so it isn’t on the scale of the Uffizi gallery but is offers interactive recreations of Da Vinci’s sketches. It allows you to interact and manipulate the head of his time ideas he had. The interactivity makes it perfect for kids and curious adults. If you enjoy learning it is a great opportunity as you can see how his contraptions operate and grow to understand the mechanics at play.
It features exhibits such as his designs for an armored tang, giant crossbow, flying machines and hydraulic devices. There is always something new to explore around every corner of the space and it is sure to ignite the imagination and help you understand his visionary ideas.
The Leonardo Da Vinci Museum is a perfect blend of STEM, art and history making it a great addition to the more traditional Florence attractions. If this has at all sparked your interest, make sure to check it out next time you are in Florence!
About Jim Casington
Hi. I'm Jim. I have been traveling the world in a van for some years now. I have been all over and seen so many things. My only hope is to share some of the experience I have gathered in my wild journey through life with you all. Some wonder how I travel the world in a van. I mean, how would I get across the ocean. Well this isn't for everyone I sell the van and get a new one when I switched to traveling Europe. It takes a certain person to do but I am that person so I love it!
