Waiting in line can be the worst part of a trip to Disney World. If you do it wrong, you can wind up only riding a couple of rides all day making it an awful value. Here are the keys to getting on your must ride attractions.
First thing in the morning when Disney Genie and Lightning Lane open you want to immediately create your bookings. They can sell out within a minute so know how the interface works in advance so you can get bookings as fast as possible. Also make sure to know what rides you want to book so you don’t have to decide once it opens. If the app doesn’t work, just take a screenshot of the problem and go to guest relations early in your day. If you go early into the day they are more than likely able to help you out.
You can also do what is called rope dropping a ride. This is where you go and line up early before park open and then go straight to the ride after park open. This lets you get on very quickly before the queue had a chance to stack up. You could even end up walking straight onto popular rides like Space Mountain!
Finally, at the end of the day before park close you can get into line for one last ride. As long as you are in the queue before the park is closed Disney will honour it and let you ride. This is a great way to get one last ride in on a popular attraction like Rise of the Resistance as not many people will be in the line. Also the wait time estimates tend to be over inflated at the end of the day so it likely isn’t as bad as it looks!
With these tips, you can get on more rides and get more out of your Disney vacation.
